What readers are saying about “Hijacked Hitman”

-------

"Hijacked Hitman" is a well-written, roller-coaster ride into an office worker's fantasy of becoming the smooth, cool guy with a gun. It begins with an overheard conversation detailing a contract hit and develops into one man's plot to make his dream come true.

We watch Sam prepare to take over the hit by making friends with the real hired killer, buy weapons, target practice and deceive everyone around him. Following him on the big day is exciting and takes an unexpected turn. Author Ron Robertson keeps us guessing as to what Sam will do next and where this new reality will lead him.

Read the book today. On a nice hot but broken A/C Sunday afternoon. The heat didn't bother me, because the book was AWESOME! When R. Robertson was describing the architecture of the building's stairwell, I knew he was referencing the old WTC towers! The author brings back good memories of my good days while working in the lower Manhattan area. Hijacked Hitman is a must read! Can't put the book down. Nice ending.

Who wouldn't love a book with a cover like that? Careful detail on the outside carries over into precise writing on the inside. A really GOOD story, well-written and absorbing to read. Great read, from cover to cover!

-------

Being adverse to guns, knives and drugs –– and growing up female in apple pie country –– you'd think this story would not appeal to me. But Robertson's Hijacked Hitman snagged me just like the TV hits Treme, Breaking Bad and The Wire. All it took was a couple of chapters to capture my curiosity about Sam, the bored office worker about to turn bad guy, and I was zipping through the book without stopping.

-------

This is a very good story very well told. It features an unlikely protagonist whose dull life is transformed by his chance overhearing of a furtive conversation in a high rise stairwell. Robertson's development of character, description of New York sites, and articulation of a series of unanticipated twists drive this first novel, which I hope will be the harbinger of many others by Ron Robertson.

-------

This is a fast-paced, kind of crazy story, full of intrigue. It delivers the expected action along with several unexpected moral dilemmas that linger long after the last page is turned. I'll look at thrillers with new eyes from now on.

"Hijacked" started out slow, but the differing characters that were introduced kept you reading to see where they would fit in to the plot. Ending was not what you would expect (sign of a good story). A very good read!
